When we first began here in Payatas, our goal was simply to start a Bible study in the home of a squatter. We immediately started two studies and as we quckly outgrew the homes, we searched and God found for us a suitable building within our three months of being here.
The next phase of the operation was to repair and move into our new building. It was only a rental but our goal was to make it as beautiful and functional as possible so that we would be good stewards of that which God has provided. So we painted, repaired, constructed and turned the little building into a wonderful sanctuary for worship.
The next two years were spent in spreading the Gospel in word and action as we provided food, clothing and toys for the children on many occasions. We had singers from Korea, medical missions that ministered to over 2000 people which we also fed. We had film showings, vacation Bible schools and we sent some to camp. Whatever we could do to teach, train and raise up responsible citizens, we did all these while focusing on presenting the Gospel of Christ. |
Our long range goal is to create the Payatas Baptist compound which will consist of a 2000 seat sanctuary, a school, medical clinic and quarters for missionaries as well as Pastors. Our immediate goal is to acquire the land across from our Church and build a four storey multi-functional building. The basement will consist of a medical clinic, the first floor a sanctuary which will convert into an area for our feeding program, the third floor will be for Sunday School classes and after school training as well as college and career and livelihood programs. |
